The U.S. Food and Drug Administration this week warned CVS Health Corp. CVS, +2.57%, Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. WBA, +1.35% and several smaller consumer products companies about marketing unapproved eye products. “The FDA is particularly concerned that these illegally marketed, unapproved ophthalmic drug products pose a heightened risk of harm to users because drugs applied to the eyes bypass some of the body’s natural defenses,” the FDA said in a release Tuesday.
